Arkansas. Paroled Apr. 26 1865
at Grenada, Mississippi
Note2: Enlisted into Company I, 8th Regiment, Arkansas Infantry
in 1861. He was captured and spent the remainder of the war in prison.
While in prison, he was said to have worked in the hospital regiment and
also as a cobbler making shoes. According to family, after arriving home,
he was very emaciated. Upon his return to Naylor, he opened a drug store
and was later referred to as Doctor Stewart.
